Hi! I am Kristin Saunders, the owner and founder of Frankly Stellar Cheesecakes! People always ask me, "How did you get into baking? Did you grow up baking and making cakes?". The answer is definitely not. I have always loved cooking and baking but never really thought what I made was anything to write home about, until I made my first cheesecake.
It all started in November of 2019 when my dad and step-mom came to ATL for a visit. It was just before my dad's birthday and I wanted to make something sweet for him. His favorite pie is pecan pie but I also know he loves cheesecake so I thought well heck, why don't I try mixing the two! And that is how my love for making cheesecakes began!
Since then, I've been making unique creations like black cherry, pistachio goat cheese or lavender honey blackberry. Each cake has a story and most are named after very special, important people in my life. If you want to know the stories, just ask! I like to make cakes with fresh, seasonal flavors and ingredients so only some will be available during specific times of the year.

I had the hardest time thinking of a creative name for my little business here. After making a short list of names, I still could not get the right one. It wasn't until my good friend looked at my dogs, Frank and Stella, and said "how about Frankly Stellar?". It was as if time stood still. I couldn't believe how perfect it was and it is the best way I could honor them, making incredible cakes with their names on them for people to enjoy. Frank and Stella were truly the most amazing pups. I was so honored to be their mom for 10 and 13 years. Unfortunately, in July and August of 2021, Frank and Stella crossed the rainbow. There will always be a void in my heart for my babies but I love that I can carry on their honor in the delicious, fun cakes I create.
